I am delighted to announce that UAB has achieved record overall enrollment for our fourth consecutive year with 22,080 students, up from 21,923 last fall.

We are delighted to share with you some very exciting news: earlier today at the Times Higher Education (THE) Young Universities Summit in Surrey, England, it was announced that UAB is ranked the Top Young University in the U.S. (50 years or younger) for the second consecutive year and 12th globally.

This year’s presentation, delivered at the beginning of UAB’s 50th anniversary year, reflects on our longtime culture of collaboration and innovation that propelled this young university to international renown and continues to drive our success.

Today marks the culmination of a very rigorous and deliberate selection process and the commencement of what will be one of the most ambitious collaborative efforts ever undertaken by our university and academic medical center: the UAB Grand Challenge.
