The University of Alabama at Birmingham will launch a campus-wide blood drive the week of Sept. 21-24, 2010, in an effort to restock blood supplies as summer winds down. The season traditionally sees heavy usage of blood products, and supplies are low.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Alabama at Birmingham will launch a campus-wide blood drive the week of Sept. 21-24, 2010, in an effort to restock blood supplies as summer winds down. The season traditionally sees heavy usage of blood products, and supplies are low.

Donors at any of the collection sites will receive an "I bleed UAB green" T-shirt, or a round of golf at one of the participating Robert Trent Jones Golf Trails. There will be drawings for prizes such as gift cards, including a $50 card from the Barnes and Noble at UAB Bookstore and at Shula's restaurant at the Wynfrey Hotel.

Drive locations are:

Tuesday, Sept. 21, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., School of Nursing, 1701 University Blvd.

Wednesday, Sept. 22, noon to 6 p.m., Blazer Hall, 1111 16th St. South and Blount Hall, 1001 14th St. South.

Thursday, Sept. 23, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Hill University Center Great Hall, 1400 University Blvd.

Friday, Sept. 24, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., UAB Administration Building, 701 20th St. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., UAB Health System Whitaker Building, 500 22nd St..
