April 30, UAB to Host NAS 5K/10K Dollars for Scholars Run

UAB Viva Health will present the fifth annual University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) National Alumni Society Dollars for Scholars 5K/10K benefiting UAB scholarships Friday, April 30. BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -UAB Viva Health will present the fifth annual University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) National Alumni Society Dollars for Scholars 5K/10K benefiting UAB scholarships Friday, April 30. The race will be held in the Pepper Place district at 29th Street and Second Avenue South in downtown Birmingham. Call 205-934-3555 for more details.

The race will begin at 6 p.m. The 5K and 10K races are open to runners of all ages, and both are certified by USA Track and Field. Medals will be given to the male and female winners in both races and to the winners in each age category.

A post-race party featuring food, games and music by Big Daddy's New Band will begin at 6:30 p.m., outside of the restaurant Cantina, 2901 Second Ave. South.

Last year's race raised more than $40,000 for scholarships for students, say organizers.
