BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Police Department will hold its annual Pedestrian Safety Campaign Oct. 19-30. The campaign is designed to remind pedestrians and drivers to be aware of increased traffic on campus and the dangers of jaywalking and to follow the rules of the road such as yielding the right of way to pedestrians.
During the campaign UAB Police officers will issue warning citations and information on pedestrian safety to the UAB community. UAB Police will be at the following locations during the campaign:
- Sixth Avenue South and 19th Street
- Sixth Avenue South and 20th Street
- Seventh Avenue South and 13th Street
- Seventh Avenue South and 18th Street
- University Boulevard and 14th Street South
- University Boulevard and 19th Street South
- Ninth Avenue South and 13th Street
- Ninth Avenue South and 14th Street
- 10th Avenue South and 12th Street
- 10th Avenue South and 17th Street
