BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Center for Economic Education hosts Federal Reserve economist Tom Cunningham in an event open to the public 12-1 p.m. Thursday, May 21, in the Business-Engineering Complex room 105, 1150 10th Ave. S.

Cunningham is the vice president and associate director of research for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. He is a macroeconomist responsible for the administrative duties of the bank's research department and overseeing the Atlanta Fed's Economic Review. Cunningham comes to UAB for the Lunch and Learn Speaker Series, which is sponsored by the Center for Economic Education and the UAB Economics Club.

Cunningham will discuss the economic outlook and policies undertaken by the Federal Reserve and other entities to help address U.S. financial stress and economic weakness.
