University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) assistant professor of history Pamela King, author of the new book “Fifty Years and Counting: A History of Operation New Birmingham,” will have a book signing 6-7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Reed Books downtown, 2021 Third Ave. N.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) assistant professor of history Pamela King, author of the new book "Fifty Years and Counting: A History of Operation New Birmingham," will have a book signing 6-7 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at Reed Books downtown, 2021 Third Ave. N.

King's book is an account of Operation New Birmingham (ONB), a non-profit, public/private partnership between the city of Birmingham, Jefferson County and the private business community. The organization promotes economic development in Birmingham's city center and racial justice.
