Today, President Bush announced that he supports a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. UAB pollster and political communications expert Larry Powell, Ph.D., is available to discuss the strategy behind the move and its impact on the Democrats.

Today, President Bush announced that he supports a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. UAB pollster and political communications expert Larry Powell, Ph.D., is available to discuss the strategy behind the move and its impact on the Democrats.

     

WHO:

  

Larry Powell, Ph.D., is a pollster and co-author of the book Political Campaign Communications: Inside and Out(2002). In addition, he has worked as a press secretary, speechwriter and communications consultant for dozens of political candidates. He is ranked as one of the top 100 communication researchers in the nation by the Association of Communication Administrators. Powell is a professor in the Department of Communication Studies.
