The Alabama Healthcare Hall of Fame will be installed in its new home at UAB Hospital. Formerly housed in Tuscaloosa in 1997, the hall recognizes “those persons, living or deceased, who have made outstanding contribution to, or rendered exemplary service for healthcare in the State of Alabama."

WHAT:

 

The Alabama Healthcare Hall of Fame will be installed in its new home at UAB Hospital. Formerly housed in Tuscaloosa in 1997, the hall recognizes “those persons, living or deceased, who have made outstanding contribution to, or rendered exemplary service for healthcare in the State of Alabama."

The group has been searching for a central location to house the Hall of Fame. UAB’s West Pavilion atrium was selected because of its availability of space and large volume of pedestrian traffic.

Saturday, June 7. Dedication ceremony begins at 2:30 p.m.

UAB Hospital, West Pavilion atrium (media may enter at the Patient Discharge area off of 7th Avenue South)

 

 

 

BACKGROUND:

 

The State of Alabama has a distinguished health care heritage. Since 1997, 51 men and women have been elected to membership by the organization’s advisory board. Through the Hall of Fame, the advisory board hopes to pass on these examples of outstanding accomplishment to Alabama’s younger generation. Honorees are selected every other year from various healthcare fields.
