- Linda Fikes will meet at least one of the people who received organs from her daughter, who died in a car wreck October 29, 2000. Singing as Linda Plowman when she was a teenager, Fikes was a country music favorite in the early 1970s, a protégé of Conway Twitty. She performed at the Grand Old Opry and sang with Twitty and with others. Her rendition of "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" was a hit in 1971, but she retired soon thereafter to raise a family. She will share a song at the service.
