University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Associate Professor Brian F. Geiger, Ed.D., has been elected to the American Association for Health Education (AAHE) board of directors. He will serve a three-year term.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Associate Professor Brian F. Geiger, Ed.D., has been elected to the American Association for Health Education (AAHE) board of directors. He will serve a three-year term.

The AAHE is a professional membership organization dedicated to advancing the profession of health education while serving health educators in K-12 schools and in higher education. The organization also serves health care professionals.

Prior to his election to the AAHE board, Geiger was a member and committee chairman of the AAHE Scholarship Committee. He also has been a peer reviewer for the American Journal of Health Education, the Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport and the Journal of the Alabama State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

Geiger teaches health education in the UAB School of Education’s Department of Human Studies. He also is assistant director of the UAB Center for Educational Accountability and assistant director of the Office for Research and Grant Support.
