BIRMINGHAM, AL — Dem Y. Lalisan has been named director of the Alabama Organ Center (AOC), Alabama’s sole designated organ-procurement organization. Lalisan previously was associate director of the AOC and has held several other positions during his 14-year career there.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Dem Y. Lalisan has been named director of the Alabama Organ Center (AOC), Alabama’s sole designated organ-procurement organization. Lalisan previously was associate director of the AOC and has held several other positions during his 14-year career there.

The new director holds a B.S. degree in biology and an M.B.A. degree, both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

The AOC is a member of the United Network for Organ Sharing, the organization charged with administering the nation’s organ donation process. The AOC serves transplant centers at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) and the University of South Alabama, and is headquartered on the UAB campus.
