BIRMINGHAM – The Medical Association of the State of Alabama (MASA) has appointed Michael Harrington, M.D., chairman of the UAB Family Practice, secretary-treasurer.
Before joining the UAB faculty in 1984, Harrington practiced in the U.S. Navy and was named outstanding educator and primary care specialist. He served as chief resident and completed a family practice residency at the Naval Aerospace and Regional Medical Center in Pensacola, Fla. He has held the position as chairman of the Department of Family Medicine since 1991.
