The Red Mountain Writing Project and the Maryann Manning Family Literacy Center, housed within the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Education, will host the 21st Century Literacies Conference: Investigate, Innovate, Integrate on Dec. 1-2 on the campus of UAB.
Faculty, students, alumni and educators are invited to join literacy experts and nationally renowned authors Doug Fisher, Ph.D., Nancy Frey, Ph.D., and Diane Lapp, Ed.D., as they present interactive sessions on topics on literacy in resource-limited settings, independent reading in the 21st century classroom, and increasing student access to literacy-rich content.
This year’s conference will also provide sessions specifically for administrators concerning their role in increasing literacy and improving literacy efforts within their schools, as well as presentations geared toward secondary teachers, elementary teachers, instructional coaches, teacher leaders and reading coaches.
