University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health and UAB Civitan-Sparks Clinics are partnering with Glenwood Autism & Behavioral Health Center to host Rhodes scholar Suzanne Goh, M.D., on Wednesday, April 20, at 11:15 a.m. at the UAB Alumni House. The 12th annual Glenwood Endowed Lecture falls during Autism Awareness Month, focusing on the “Next Generation Treatment for Autism Spectrum Disorders: From Mitochondria to Music.”
Goh, director of Pediatric Neurology Therapeutics in San Diego, California, is a board-certified pediatric neurologist with expertise in evaluation and treatment of children with neurological conditions that impact brain development, cognition and behavior. Her research has focused on mitochondrial and other metabolic disturbances in autism, in which she has also conducted brain-imaging research to identify differences in brain circuits in children with autism.
