Dr. Jayme Locke leads the kidney transplant research program. Her work focuses on novel risk prediction tools capable of accurately identifying pre-donation risk factors associated with the development of post-donation comorbidities. Her research stems from her clinical recognition of the knowledge gaps with regard to the long term health outcomes after living kidney donations particularly among African-Americas. Currently, Dr. Locke is the co-principal investigator of an NIH/NAAID UO1 grant entitled “Impact CCR5 Blockade in HIV Positive Kidney Recipients” for a total of 1.7 million dollars. She is a PI on NIH/NIDDK K23 grant entitled “Long Term Health Outcomes among Living Kidney Donors with Isolated Medical Abnormalities”. She is also the principal investigator on an American Society of Transplantation Clinical Science Faculty Development Grant entitled “Long Term Health Outcomes among Kidney Donors with Isolated Medical Comorbidities”.
