Get to know Dr. Alexander better with three quick questions!
Why did you pursue a career in psychiatry?
I feel like mental health is very stigmatized and that many of our patients are underserved in this area. I believe that going into psychiatry allows me to make a difference in these patients' lives by helping them to overcome very real medical challenges that have often been disregarded.
What hobby do you wish you had more time for?
Programming and data analysis. It's fun, but I tend to work on a project nonstop until it is done, so I often need to make sure that I actually have the time to do it.
What was your first job?
Tutoring fellow college students in math, biochemistry, and psychology during undergrad!
