Faculty and trainees in the UAB Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology attended the 2024 Alabama Advanced Imaging Consortium retreat at Lake Martin, Alabama, July 19-20. The AAIC brings together a network of imaging researchers from UAB, Auburn University, The University of Alabama, and The University of South Alabama.
Adrienne Lahti, M.D., professor and chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology, is co-director of the AAIC along with Thomas Denney, Ph.D., director of the Auburn University MRI Research Center.
Faculty members from UAB, Auburn University, the University of Alabama, and the University of South Alabama, as well as trainees from their labs, were in attendance at this 13th annual AAIC retreat. In addition, the retreat featured keynote speaker Anastasia Yendiki, Ph.D., associate professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School.
According to its website, the AAIC "promotes collaboration, project management, and support between the major research centers in the field of imaging in the state of Alabama." It also serves to facilitate research and grant proposal submission to federal or other funding agencies.
