The UAB Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurobiology recently honored residents who will complete their residencies in June 2024 during a ceremony on May 16.
As the fourth-year residents prepare to begin practicing and others plan to move on to further training programs, they reflect on their time in the UAB Department of Psychiatry residency program.
“I thank my fellow residents and faculty for their support and guidance throughout the past four years,” said Adam Niolet, M.D. “I feel fully equipped and confident to pursue independent practice.”
Chelsea Miller, M.D., PGY3, who will be moving into a fellowship program, acknowledged the training received and thanked fellow residents for their support.
“I am extremely thankful to my co-residents,” Miller said. “Training and learning alongside them has been a wonderful experience. Having a resident family is unique, and I am grateful for their support throughout this arduous journey—I couldn’t have done it without them. I will miss them and wish them all the best.”
Cydney Terryn, M.D., PGY3, who will also be transitioning into a fellowship, attributes her readiness to practice to the training received at UAB.
“I feel well-prepared to practice general psychiatry and hold UAB in high regard,” Terryn said. “I will consider pursuing a career here.”
