The UAB Department of Pathology is proud to co-sponsor the 2019 Tri-State Pathology Conference, taking place Saturday, October 5, at the Hyatt Regency Birmingham - the Wynfrey Hotel.
The event is a collaboration of the Alabama Association of Pathologists, Louisiana Pathology Society, and the Mississippi Association of Pathologists.
This year's event will highlight speakers from the UAB Department of Pathology. Travis Kidd, Jr., M.D., President of the Alabama Association of Pathologists, will deliver the opening and closing remarks.
Dr. Travis (Bart) Kidd is the current President of the Alabama Association of Pathologists. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his post graduate education at Vanderbilt University Medical School. He practices full-time surgical pathology at CytoPath in Alabaster, Alabama.
R. Bruce Williams, M.D., current president of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), will deliver a lunchtime update on CAP. Dr. Williams is a founding member and laboratory director of The Delta Pathology Group, LLC, and is in full-time practice of anatomic and clinical pathology in Lafayette, Louisiana. Dr. Williams serves on the executive committee as practice manager of the mid-Louisiana region of Delta Pathology. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical School. He is associate clinical professor of pathology at LSUMC-Shreveport.
