Buczek webErin Buczek, M.D., an assistant professor in the Department of Otolaryngology, has been named a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).

Buczek has earned the distinguished right to use the designation of “FACS” (Fellow, American College of Surgeons) after her name. It indicates her education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the College.

Dr. Buczek joined the Department of Otolaryngology as an assistant professor in 2017 after completing her residency and fellowship with the department. She has a strong professional interest in neck endocrine surgery and head/neck oncologic surgery and holds membership in other professional societies, including The American Thyroid Association, American Head and Neck Society, and American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

The American College of Surgeons is a scientific and educational organization of surgeons that was founded in 1913 to raise the standards of surgical practice and to improve the quality of care for the surgical patient. The College is dedicated to the ethical and competent practice of surgery. Its achievements have established it as an important advocate for all surgical patients.
