Assistant Professor Kevin Williams, M.D., was chosen to serve as the new wellness champion for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
In this role, Williams will work together with David Rogers, M.D., MHPE, chief wellness officer and senior associate dean for Faculty Affairs and Professional Development, as well as the entire team in the UAB Medicine Office of Wellness.
Established in 2018, the UAB Medicine Office of Wellness identifies and distributes numerous wellness resources within UAB to support individual employees, teams, and departments in meeting their wellness goals. Using research-based wellness data and resources, it strives to promote balanced cultural wellness.
“Through research and experience, we are reminded of the importance of wellness for practicing physicians, staff, and trainees,” said Williams. “I am honored to advance wellness, and I look forward to supporting our committee, who will define wellness for our department and set our strategies and goals.”
