ASIA works to educate employers and employees on Alabama laws pertaining to workers’ compensation and to guarantee injured employees receive coverage.
This three-day conference was held at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf and Spa last month where healthcare providers and workers’ compensation experts presented topics such as “Keeping Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Initiatives Legal, “Getting Patients Back to Work Post Serious Foot/Ankle Injuries” and “Employment Law Update” to name a few.
Similarly, UAB’s Orthopaedic Surgery Workers’ Compensation is committed to offer care on both medical and administrative levels. The department’s seasoned team of providers specializes in injuries affecting the foot and ankle, spine, shoulder and elbow, trauma nerves and sports injuries.
Hatch, who attended the ASIA conference, felt the experience was incredibly valuable. “At UAB, we work so hard to make the Workers’ Compensation process easy and accessible for our community partners,” says Hatch. “And it was an honor to represent UAB at the ASIA conference this year and continue to learn ways to improve our program.”
