The UAB Department of Orthopaedic Surgery welcomed Erin Ransom, M.D., as a faculty member on Mar. 16.
Ransom completed Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at UAB where she served as Administrative Chief Resident. Additionally, she completed her Hand and Upper Extremity fellowship at UAB.
Following her fellowship, Ransom completed an additional fellowship specializing in Pediatric Hand Surgery at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta which included treating patients with spasticity and tetraplegia at the Shepherd Center for Rehabilitation.
Ransom has had extensive training in the care of patients with upper extremity complaints with a special emphasis on brachial plexus, thoracic outlet syndrome and pediatric hand injuries. Ransom is a member of numerous professional societies including: The American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Association for Hand Surgery, and the American Society for Peripheral Nerve.
