To mitigate communication challenges brought by multiple work locations and a global pandemic, the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery has launched an intranet website.
On this private department-specific website schedules, projects, and initiatives can be communicated and shared data can be displayed. The website is a collaborative platform, where administration and leadership can provide information to faculty and staff while department members have the opportunity to add critical information or updates.
Updated consistently and regularly, the homepage of the intranet website has a department calendar, a blog from the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Chair Steven Theiss, M.D., titled “Theiss Thoughts”, important announcements, and tweets. Users are encouraged to login and browse the home page for updates.
“I'd like to thank those who have worked to create this portal and get it up and running,” said Theiss. “This internal site will serve as a great communication tool for our department to continue to grow and thrive, despite external challenges.”
