UAB Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Assistant Professor Eugene Brabston, M.D., was selected to speak at the 2022 Annual American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) Meeting.
Out of 725 submitted abstracts, Brabston and colleagues were one of the 46 chosen to present his work titled “Cerclage and Suspensory Fixation Provides Superior Biomechanical Results to Screw Fixation in Glenoid Bone Augmentation Constructs.”
This year’s meeting will take place in Atlanta, Georgia, from Oct. 7-9 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. Annual ASES meetings are designed to create a space where medical practitioners specializing in shoulder and elbow care can exchange ideas and scientific findings.
Brabston and his robust clinical practice play a predominant role in shoulder and elbow sports medicine research. Earlier this summer, he was a part of a group of UAB Orthopaedic faculty who won the JBJS Open Access Award for their article “Disparities Among Industry’s Highly Compensated Orthopaedic Surgeons.” He is thrilled to attend ASES in the fall.
“It is an honor to have been selected to speak at the 2022 ASES Annual Meeting in October,” says Brabston. “Our team’s research is important to the field of orthopaedic surgery and I am happy to be able to represent UAB. Research always is a collaborative effort and the honor of having our research selected represents the hard work of our gifted research team.”
