Department of Orthoapedic Surgery Nurse Practioner Andrea Boohaker, MSN, will present at National Nurse Practitioner Symposium in Keystone, Colorado. The symposium will be held in July.
The four-day symposium will consist of approximately 100 sessions and workshops, offering over continuing medical education opportunities for nurse practitioners, nurse midwives and physician assistants.
Boohaker will present her abstract “Improving Intent to Stay and Well-Being Among Novice Nurse Practitioners in a Large Academic Medical System: A Quality Improvement Project” as a poster presentation.
Boohaker is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) at UAB. The abstract that she will present at the symposium is one that is closely tied to her studies and her DNP project. She looks forward to representing the department nationally.
“It is an honor to be considered a leader in the field of nurse practioners,” said Boohaker. “I look forward to speaking about my research project to other nurse practioners from around the nation. I want to thank my Department of Orthopaedic Surgery colleagues and mentors for supporting me during my DNP pursuit.”
