For the past several years, Audrey Minter has been a welcoming presence for patients and families visiting the Sparks Center for Development and Learning Disorders at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Pediatrics. As a Patient Services Coordinator I, Minter helps ensure clinic operations run smoothly while creating a positive experience for those receiving care.
Minter says the supportive work environment and meaningful connections she has built over the years have made her time at UAB especially rewarding.
“What has made me stay at UAB is the supportive work environment, the opportunity to help patients every day and the relationships I’ve built with both coworkers and patients,” said Minter. “I also appreciate the opportunity for growth and learning within the organization.”
In her role, Minter assists with patient check-in and check-out, answers questions from families and helps guide patients through their clinic visits.
“On a day-to-day basis, I assist patients with checking them in and out, answering questions and taking them to rooms for care to help ensure the clinic runs smoothly,” said Minter. “I work closely with patients and staff to make sure everyone has a positive experience.”
One accomplishment Minter is especially proud of is her ability to balance her professional responsibilities while remaining present for her family.
Outside of work, Minter enjoys exploring restaurants around the Birmingham area and recommends visiting a local soul food restaurant to relax and enjoy a meal with family and friends.
Through her dedication to patient service and commitment to supporting families, Minter continues to make a meaningful impact on the patients, families and colleagues she serves each day.
