Presented annually by the UAB Pediatric Residency Program, the Joe LaRussa Intern of the Year Award recognizes two members of the intern class who exemplify outstanding work ethic, compassion, professionalism and a positive attitude while caring for patients and supporting their colleagues.
The award is named in honor of Joe LaRussa, M.D., an alumnus of the UAB Pediatric Residency Program whose legacy continues through the recognition of exceptional interns each year.
Recipients are selected through a vote of pediatric faculty, fellows and residents, making the award a meaningful reflection of the respect and admiration earned from peers and mentors throughout the residency program.
Congratulations to Crumbley and Wurst on this well-deserved recognition and for the positive impact they have made during their intern year.
