The UAB Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is proud to announce the appointment of Shweta Patel, M.D., as the new associate division director for the Division of Women’s Reproductive Healthcare (WRH).

Patel has been an integral part of the UAB community, demonstrating exceptional leadership, clinical expertise, and dedication to advancing women’s health. In her new role, she will support the division’s ongoing commitment to patient-centered care, medical education, and clinical excellence while helping to shape its strategic vision for the future.

Patel has been a key advocate for comprehensive reproductive healthcare, working to expand access to high-quality services and enhance educational opportunities for trainees. Her leadership will play a vital role in mentorship, faculty development, and program growth, ensuring that the WRH division continues to provide outstanding care for patients across Alabama and beyond.
