Mark Russell has joined the University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery as revenue cycle manager.
Russell brings more than 20 years of health care management experience, with a strong track record of enhancing operational efficiency and financial performance while maintaining a patient-centered focus. His expertise includes strategic planning, revenue cycle optimization and contract negotiations, positioning him to effectively navigate the complexities of today’s health care environment.
Most recently, Russell served as revenue cycle manager at Alabama Oncology, where he led high-performing teams focused on quality improvement and financial analysis. He previously spent eight years as clinic administrator for Hematology and Oncology Associates of Alabama.
Russell earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Montevallo.
A Birmingham resident, Russell is actively engaged in the community, including more than a decade of service on the Board of Directors for Alzheimer’s of Central Alabama.
