Save the date for the 38th Annual J. Garber Galbraith, M.D., Scientific Session and Lecture, Friday, November 12, 2021, featuring Adjunct Professor and Director of Clinical Research, Beverly C. Walters, MD, MSc, FRCSC as this year's speaker.
Walters is a neurosurgeon and clinical epidemiologist who is retired from a full-time clinical practice in general neurosurgery, focusing on spine, brachial plexus, and peripheral nerve, to pursue her interest in applied evidence-based medicine. She is an adjunct professor of Neurological Surgery and director of Clinical Research in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and visiting professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. She also holds the position of director of Clinical Research in the Department of Neurosciences at Inova Hospital System in Virginia, and is a professor of Neuroscience and a Research Professor of Pharmacy and Outcomes Science at Virginia Commonwealth University – Inova Campus, and an Affiliate Professor of Molecular Neurosciences at George Mason University.
We anticipate hosting the event as a live presentation for an in-person audience and hope to have a webinar option available as well. Research problems and presentations will kick off 8:30 a.m., and the symposium portion officially begins at 10 a.m. Walters will speak at 4 p.m., with closing comments at 5 p.m. For more information, contact Regan Gaskin or Tricia Daniel.
