Dr. Georges Bouobda Tsemo joined the Department of Neurosurgery this summer as a PGY-1 neurosurgical resident.
Originally from Bafoussam, Cameroon, Bouobda Tsemo moved to the U.S. to attend college at CUNY College of Staten Island, where he majored in mathematics and chemistry. He then attended medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine.
His current areas of interest include global neurosurgery, vascular, tumors, and spine.

Why did you pick UAB?
I picked UAB because of its excellent faculty, the diversity of surgical cases, and the camaraderie between residents. I was especially drawn to the global neurosurgery initiative at UAB.
What are you most excited about in completing the residency program?
I am excited to become a competent and caring neurosurgeon
What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy running and riding my bicycle.
