Dr. Arsalaan Salehani is a PGY-6 in the Department of Neurosurgery.
Originally from Pakistan, Salehani moved to the United States at a young age. He attended Wofford College for undergraduate studies and Emory University for medical school. Salehani and his wife, Noren, enjoy exploring the culinary world, cultural events, and the Birmingham outdoors.
His areas of interest are general neurosurgery, skull base/vascular, and spinal neurosurgery.

Why did you pick UAB?
I chose UAB because of the cohesive resident group, large case volume, and the variety of subspecialty exposure.
What makes this program unique?
The breadth of exposure to various subspecialties, focus on outpatient and inpatient learning, and dedicated rotations focused on learning-intensive care.
What is your biggest takeaway from residency (so far)?
I have learned that you can't succeed without a good team supporting you- both at work and home.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to try new coffee brews, play basketball, go to the gym, and collect watches!
