The UAB Department of Neurosurgery welcomes Dr. Burt Nabors as the department’s new vice-chair of research.

In addition to this new role, Nabors maintains a long list of designations and leadership roles at UAB. He holds the role of professor and vice-chair of research in the UAB Department of Neurology as well as the director for the Division of Neuro-oncology. Nabors is also the director of UAB Center for Clinical Translational Science’s Clinical Research Unit. He is an active member of the Neurology Service medical staff at UAB Hospital and an associate scientist in the Neuro-oncology Program at the O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center at UAB.

Nabors’ experience, leadership, and longstanding collaboration with the Department of Neurosurgery make him an ideal candidate for the role. As vice-chair of research, Nabors aims to advance the department’s research activities, growth, and prominence while maintaining full compliance with all policies.

“I am excited about the opportunity to further work with the Department of Neurosurgery as we seek to expand and enhance its nationally recognized research efforts,” said Nabors.
