University of Alabama at Birmingham’s James Markert, M.D., MPH, James Garber Galbraith Endowed Chair of Neurosurgery and Department of Neurosurgery professor, recently served as a visiting professor at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center (CMC).

Markert visited CMC on Jan. 23, 2024, where he lectured on his novel research on the use of oncolytic viruses in the treatment of glioma patients.

While at CMC, Markert had the opportunity to reconnect with his former University of Michigan Department of Neurosurgery co-resident, Anthony Asher, M.D., FAANS.
