UAB Department of Neurosurgery PGY-4 resident, Dr. Dagoberto Estevez-Ordonez, joins Nicole Bentley, M.D., Jainmei Leavenworth, M.D., Ph.D., and Jennifer Lancaster on the department Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee.

The DEI committee serves to actively promote and recognize principles of fairness and equity among employees in the UAB Department of Neurosurgery.

Estevez-Ordonez is excited to join the team and work on DEI initiatives in the department and the local community.

"Diversity in any healthcare-related field is an important ideal that every specialty field should strive for. It enriches the culture within and augments our capacity to serve a heterogeneous population of patients reflected in our society. I welcome the opportunity and feel honored to represent the UAB Department of Neurosurgery and the residency training program in their efforts to embrace diversity," says Estevez-Ordonez.
