Eight members of the Department of Neurosurgery recently graduated from UAB Medicine’s High Performing Care Collaborative (HPCC) summer 2024 program, further enhancing the department's commitment to clinical leadership and innovation.
The HPCC program, hosted by UAB Medicine’s Leadership Development Office, aims to immerse clinical leadership teams in key management and leadership principles that drive healthcare outcomes. Designed to foster collaboration across departments and entities, the program encourages participants to create their own action plans to improve patient care.
The summer cohort of 33 individuals, which made up seven teams, were recognized during a ceremony on Aug. 14, 2024. Among them were eight neurosurgery professionals who dedicated their time to refining their leadership skills. The program’s structured yet collaborative environment allows busy clinicians to take part in strategic planning while strengthening relationships across different healthcare disciplines.
The interprofessional teams involved in HPCC worked together to develop creative solutions to challenges they may face in their respective departments. The program promotes innovative problem-solving techniques aimed at improving outcomes and enhancing team performance.
The Department of Neurosurgery looks forward to the continued impact of its graduates’ efforts as they implement their action plans developed through the HPCC experience.
