UAB Department of Neurosurgery partnered with McWane Science Center for Brain Awareness Week, March 14-20. Brain Awareness Week is a national recognition week to celebrate the brain and its complexities.
Several faculty and staff had the opportunity to lead hands-on science presentations with children from the Birmingham community. Presentations ranged from sheep brain dissections to women in stem. UAB Department of Neurosurgery representatives included Marshall Holland, M.D., M.S., Tanisha Bristow, Sarah Black, and James Markert, M.D., MPH.
