Ashley Haddad is a current third-year medical resident at UAB. Originally from New Orleans, she received her undergraduate degrees from the University of Notre Dame in both Psychology and Pre-Professional Studies. She returned home for medical school, and is one of many UAB residents to proudly claim Louisiana State University as her medical alma mater. Next year, she will complete a chief residency year in Birmingham, and thereafter hopes to pursue a career in general internal medicine. She looks forward to the opportunity of working with the Alumni Communication Committee this year and for many years to come!

Starr Steinhilber is from Montgomery but moved south for college at the University of Miami. She started in Design and Advertising though eventually made her way back to the sciences with a B.S. in Biology. After college she spent a year in New York City and worked at ELLE Magazine before she returned to the sciences yet again and came back to Alabama for medical school. She got her combined MD MPH at UAB and entered the Tinsley Harrison Internal Medicine Residency Program in 2011. She stayed at UAB for residency because of the Internal Medicine leaders she met through her time in medical school. She is excited to get to join the team of Chief Medical Residents next year, and hopefully pass on that leadership and impact that meant so much to her.

robbyRobby Bosshardt, M.D. (2011-2014), Contributing Editor and Writer

Robby Bosshardt was born in Charlotte, NC, where his father, a UAB Medical School Alumnus, was in residency for Internal Medicine.  After his father’s training, his family moved to Chickamauga, GA, where he grew up on a Christmas tree farm along with his five siblings.  He attended the University of Georgia and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. After graduating, he enrolled at Mercer University School of Medicine where he received his medical doctorate degree. He began Internal Medicine residency at UAB in July 2011 and has loved being a part of the medical community at UAB. He will continue his training in GI medicine at MUSC. He joined the Alumni Communication Committee because of his interest in establishing a strong connection between current, former, and future internal medicine residents.

Raff EvanEvan Raff, M.D. (2011-2014), Contributing Editor

Evan Raff was born in Louisville, KY, where he navigated his way through the public school system until graduating from the University of Louisville with a bachelor of arts in biology and psychology.  He then went on to earn his medical doctorate from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.  He is now proud to be a third year resident in one of the strongest internal medicine residency programs in the country: UAB.  Evan has always been keen on the written word.  Although often accused of being too verbose, he continues to enjoy writing (and using far too many words), especially when his work can help bridge connections between people. He will be continuing his medical career practicing hospitalist medicine here at UAB. He joined the editorial board of the UAB Alumni Communication Committee with the hope that his contributions could help to unite past and present generations of UAB internal medicine residents.

moneeMonee Amin, M.D. (2012-2015), Contributing Editor

Monee Amin was born in Saginaw, MI. She grew up a vagabond; she went to four different elementary schools in four different states by the age of eleven. Things settled when her family relocated to the Kansas City metropolitan area for the duration of her high school career. Upon graduation, Monee entered the combined six year B.A/M.D program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After a brief detour at the University of Kansas, she returned and completed both her degrees and subsequently arrived at UAB in June of 2012. The adjustment to residency has been seamless in large part due to the co-residents and faculty. She looks forward to interacting with UAB trained physicians both past and present.

joshJosh Stripling, M.D. (2012-2015), Contributing Editor and Writer

Joshua Stripling was born in the Southwest Georgia metropolis of Leesburg. He attended the University of Georgia, majoring in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a secondary interest in Philosophy. He greatly enjoyed his intern year at UAB and was recently selected as part of the CMR class of 2015-2016.

MayJori May, M.D. (2013-2016), Contributing Editor and Writer

Jori was born and raised right here in Birmingham.  She earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her medical doctorate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, but she could not stay away for long.  She is now excited to be back home as a first year resident at UAB.  She is following in the footsteps of her grandfather who was a physician in Birmingham for over 40 years.  She therefore has a great appreciation for the history of medicine in the city and looks forward to being part of its present and future.
