The Department of Medicine is excited to celebrate Olivia Krantz as the recipient of the DOM STAR Award for Staff Excellence for Fall 2024!
Krantz, a registered dietitian in the Division of Preventive Medicine, received numerous nominations highlighting her exceptional support for patients, mentees, staff, and department employees.
Colleagues described Krantz as immensely helpful, noting her willingness to arrive early or stay late to conduct participant assessments. Many mentioned her dedication during the 2023 holiday season, stating that Olivia generously volunteered to be in the office to accommodate participants' schedules and ensure the team remained on track with recruitment targets.
Krantz was also recognized as a well-respected leader. She advocates for the students and staff she mentors, encourages her team to pursue skill advancing opportunities, shares knowledge to help overcome obstacles, and fosters collaboration to improve study efficiency.
Beyond her role in the Division of Preventive Medicine, Krantz is active on the DOM Wellness Committee, where she focuses on addressing key concerns within the Department's work environment.
“Across all aspects of her work, Olivia strives for excellence and goes above and beyond. She consistently boosts morale and builds trust within our work group, as well as with study participants and community partners,” said Camille Worthington, Ph.D., RDN, assistant professor in Preventive Medicine.
