Florkiewicz is a Senior Human Resource Planning Generalist in the Division of Preventive Medicine.

Florkiewicz’s colleagues commend her exceptional conflict resolution skills, detailing her ability to maintain professionalism and kindness for all parties involved, no matter what the conversation. When addressing conflict, Florkiewicz collaborates with leaders to develop comprehensive solutions. She emphasizes the importance of aligning all behaviors and action plans within UAB core values.

“It is genuinely her goal to treat others with courtesy and civility regardless of their positions,” Aquila Brown-Galvan, a past STAR Award recipient, explains.

Florkiewicz promotes diverse and inclusive environments by ensuring everyone feels welcomed and valued. Additionally, she motivates division employees to develop appropriate skillsets to increase their knowledge in the area of diversity and inclusion.
