As part of ongoing maintenance to improve speed and reliability, UABFile will be unavailable the second weekend of March, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, March 13, until 7 a.m. Monday, March 16.
During the maintenance, uabfile.ad.uab.edu will be unavailable and you will be unable to connect to UABFile, read files from it, save changes to files, or create new files on it.
What to do before the maintenance:
Nothing is required, but it would be helpful to save your work before the maintenance begins at 7 p.m. Friday, March 13.
What to do after the maintenance period:
Restart your computer to reconnect to UABFile.
When to contact AskIT for assistance:
- If you cannot connect to UABFile after the maintenance.
- If you need a previous version of a file after the maintenance.
- After the maintenance, all of your files should be accessible, but only the most recent versions. Previous versions of files — the earlier edits of files you have saved in UABFile — will not be available unless you request them.
- Offline versions of these files will be kept until March 31. If you submit a ticket to AskIT, UAB IT can retrieve a previous version of any file and provide it to you, but only until March 31.
- UABFile will rebuild a new set of file versions with the same one-year retention starting from March 16.
