UAB IT will host Microsoft executive leaders and AI experts for a series of meetings Tuesday, May 16, on artificial intelligence and its potential for academics, research and medicine.
Meetings will be held at the Alumni Theater at Hill Center and online via Microsoft Teams.
Use cases, demos, and technological capabilities will be covered. The sessions are intended to be very interactive, and attendee input is encouraged.
Sessions include:
- Focus group on academics, 9 to 9:50 a.m. — will address how AI can impact student success, revenue growth, and productivity.
- Focus group on research, 10 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. — will address how AI can accelerate research, allow researchers to ask new questions, and enhance research administration operations.
- Focus group on medicine, 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. — will address how AI can impact connected patient care, precision medicine and fostering the next generation of medical trailblazers.
Attendees are strongly encouraged attending in person but if they cannot, Teams is available. Meetings can be joined at this Microsoft Teams link.
UAB IT is also working to schedule future on-campus visits regarding AI with technology companies including Salesforce, Amazon, Google and Oracle.
