Microsoft 365 is making it easier for you to share files across the platform. Before this update it was complicated to share files with coworkers. Now, Microsoft offers updates to help streamline productivity without having to leave your browser. You can let others edit, share with others with a simple click, and change group file sharing options.
- Quick Permissions:
Quick Permissions are now available. When you share something, you can now select if this person can edit. A drop box will appear next to the name you enter. From there you can select if they can edit or view only.
- Easier sharing option
The share button is getting a facelift. This update will feature a dropdown link that will let you share via email, teams, or just copy link. Selecting email brings up a new box where you can type the person you need to share with and type a little message to them. Sharing to Teams sends it directly to your group or the individual. Copying the link can let you send it to someone who may be external to you.
- Manage who has access to files:
Sharing a file with multiple people? The bottom banner of your sharing page now shows everyone with access to it. Clicking on it will open a page that shows you everyone and who has access to edit. Here you can adjust people from editing to view only or vice versa. You can also stop all access to your files.
