Internet Explorer 11 will be going “end of life” on June 15 — what does this mean for you?
Microsoft Edge with IE mode is replacing Internet Explorer 11’s desktop application on Windows 10. “End of life” means the application is out of support and Microsoft will not make any updates and cannot guarantee security for the browser.
The Internet Explorer 11 desktop application will not be removed from devices, because the IE11 enging is required for IE mode to function. Similarly, iexplore.exe will not be removed from devices, but if you try to access it, you will be redirected to Microsoft Edge.
