The UAB Honors College partnered with UAB IT and HR in early 2022 to streamline the hiring process for professors and instructors.
Previously, positions were posted on the Honors College website, with resumes then emailed to recruiters. If the right candidate was found, their paperwork would be submitted to the University’s faculty recruitment software, PeopleAdmin.
But using email as the primary manager of the hiring process could lead to lost applications or conversations. To streamline hiring, the campus partners worked together to better incorporate it with PeopleAdmin. UAB IT’s main role was to remap the process. PeopleAdmin now automates the hire letters. The system creates workflows for approval and can generate letters within the system. This win has reduced the amount of time needed for hiring adjunct professors for the Honors College.
