Phishing is the simplest gateway for scammers looking to break into UAB’s network — and we need you to remain vigilant to help keep them away.
How can you spot a phish? There are some tips:
- Check the sender’s email address to see if it is legitimate.
- Look for typos and misspelled words.
- Be wary of messages claiming a sense of urgency.
- Hover over links to make sure the URL matches the text.
- Even if the sender is from UAB, they could have been hacked. If an email requests you to log in to an unfamiliar site or give up your credentials, be suspicious.
Once your suspicions are raised, UAB has two easy ways to report a phish:
