Licensing Associate for Research Tools
Stephanie Moore, Ph.D., joined the HIIE team in March 2024. She is currently managing the research tools portfolio related to antibodies. Stephanie received her B.S. in Chemistry at UAB in 2008 and then obtained her Ph.D. in the Pathology department here at UAB in 2015. As a postdoctoral fellow in Neonatology, her lab was developing therapeutics for high oxygen lung injury. After this translational experience, she transitioned to therapeutic drug discovery and development administration.
Stephanie worked for five years with both the Alabama Drug Discovery Alliance (ADDA) and the U19 Antiviral Drug Discovery and Development Center, where she was helping manage a drug discovery pipeline including researchers at UAB, Southern Research, and other sites in the U.S. Through this, she learned much about working among teams to build a platform for discovery of novel drugs for unmet needs, as well as the agreements that must be in place to perform work among various sites. While she oversees the antibody portfolio for the HIIE, she is also a faculty member in the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences, working as the assistant director for the Biotechnology Ph.D. program. This new degree program focuses on developing graduate trainees that understand both life sciences and commercialization.
Stephanie is a Birmingham native and loves working with and learning from others. She loves baking and spending time outdoors with her family.
