A native of Birmingham, Wink earned his Ph.D. from the UAB Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology before joining the faculty at the University of North Georgia to teach undergraduate courses in biology. He returned to UAB as a licensing associate with the Harbert Institute in 2021, where he currently manages commercialization efforts for a wide variety of UAB technologies. Wink’s portfolio includes innovations in the fields of mechanical and electrical engineering, artificial intelligence, ophthalmology, optometry, neuroengineering, radiology, and medical devices. In his spare time, he enjoys learning new tunes on his banjo, gardening, and cooking.
