The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants to conduct research, teach English or complete graduate study in more than 140 countries worldwide. Recipients of the Fulbright Study/Research Scholarship spend 9-11 months devoted to international study, mentored research, or a combination of the two. The English Teaching Assistantship places students in international classrooms teaching English language and facilitating community engagement projects. Applicants must be citizens or nationals of the U.S. at the time of application, and they must have a conferred bachelor’s degree prior to the start of the grant.

  • Remy Meir

    After completing a B.S. in Neuroscience at UAB, Remy Meir was awarded a Fulbright Research Scholarship to spend a year in Oslo, Norway working under Dr. Siri Leknes at the University of Oslo. While in Norway, Remy worked to identify predictors of post-operative analgesic consumption and studied how distress alters opioid drug effects and abuse liability. Remy is currently pursuing a PhD in Neuroscience at Brown University.
